Presentation of the division

The TeLL Research Group of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Emerging Technology Applied to Language and Literature Research Group). We are interested in language both as communication and structure. Our fields of knowledge are translation studies, literature, semantics, lexicography, pragmatics and discourse analysis from a synchronic and a diachronic perspective. The languages of research are mainly English, French and Spanish, although we also use other languages like German, and Italian. Currently we run different projects dealing with language in use, and genre studies. The members also collaborate in several PhD, Masters and Expert Programmes.

Currently, the research group focuses on the following research lines:

  • English language studies from a diachronic perspective: variation and change.
